Fairy Tail Anime Series Confirmed

Fairy Tail [フェアリーテイル] a Japanese manga series by Hiro Mashima has been confirmed to be animated, and the anime series is scheduled to preimier this Fall.
This piece of news can be seen in the latest issue of Weekly Shounen Jump magazine. According to the scan, the anime will be produced by A-1 Pictures and Satelight.

This is a great manga series to be adapted. I have been reading the manga for quite some time and it has a nice storyline. However, there are certain similarities between Fairy Tail and One Piece, especially the personalities of the two protagonist, Natsu Dragneel and Luffy. But then again, Natsu seems to be more intelligent in during fights ^^
I’ve never heard of this, but the smiling, brown-haired dude on the right of the first picture looks exactly like Luffy.
sigh….I’ll most likely watch this when it comes out.

I only read it because Erza is in it and she’s really awesome. Might consider watching it.

I think when they compare Luffy with Natsu It’s because Natsu is really care free and all Happy-go-lucky outside of fights. I’ve never watched one piece but have seen parts of episodes between flipping through channels, but Fairy Tail is really awesome and don’t judge it until you’ve seen part of it. I hope the anime follows the manga closely! If it does i can’t wait to watch Natsu and Erza fight Gernard(I think I spelt it right it’s been awhile… of coarse if I wasn’t falling behind I’d remember scince He’s bakk… o well. I’ll stop ranting here. Bye!
As a big fan of Fairy Tail since it was first serialized, I am very exited to be able to watch an anime adaptation. Hopefully others won’t compare it too muh to other anime for similarities, because it is a great series in itself. <3 Erza

When I first started reading Fairy Tail, I did think that it was slightly similar to One Piece if only for the reference to ‘nakama.’ But if you actually read the manga, you will definitely be able to tell the difference. Fairy Tail is awesome in its own right as is One Piece. They are two entirely different authors and series. If anything, the drawing style of Fairy Tail reminded me more of Rave, for obvious reasons. I cannot wait for this anime to come out. I wanna see the fights and insane antics in live action. ^-^
