is the UK the only place that calls “potato chips” crisps, i mean come on world, they are crisps!

chips are fried strips of potato that everyone else calls fry’s because they couldnt think of a name beyond the cooking process

Well considering that “Saratoga Chips” (the original crisps recipie) originated in America I would say we are the ones getting it wrong on this occasion and although you say “they couldnt think of a name beyond the cooking process” we english couldn’t be arsed with putting effort into the name change so we said “its crispy, call em crisps. Now whos up for some tea?”

      True story :P

the origin doesnt concern me, the fact that crisps is more about the eating confirms its name, fry’s is just stupid, im surprised they didnt call em cuts, seeing as thats how u prepare em
