1,000 Chicks Escape After Truck Accident
Ever wondered how long it would take to gather up 1,000 chicks running wild on the road? Well just this Friday, about 1,000 baby chicks were released on the Seto Ohashi Bridge in Sakaide, Kagawa Prefecture, after the truck carrying them overturned in a traffic accident.

According to the police, it took about two hours for 20 police officers and highway operator officials to collect around 800 of the baby chicks. Some chicks fell off the bridge linking Honshu and Shikoku, two of Japan’s four main islands.
The truck, which was carrying around 5,000 baby chicks, crashed into a truck in front of it and then got rear-ended by another truck about 10 minutes later and overturned.
‘‘We collected the baby chicks as quickly as possible as there was a danger that drivers could be distracted,’’ said Yasuaki Shirakawa, deputy chief of the Kagawa prefectural highway police.

Folks who witness it would be able to tell their children the story of the great eggscape. LOL
But I pity those poor chicks who fell off the bridge, they most probably went splat >_<

“Oh look its a chick!”
*car crash*
This makes for a very interesting mental image. xD
