There are losta Japanese blog that feature really kawaii pets. One of them is 俵太’s blog that features this 15-year-old rock squirrel named Hyota.
I was browing through it the other day and spotted this super kawaii photo of Hyota sleeping with his new cuddly chipmunk plushie.
I didn’t know folks can keep squirrels as pets. But they sure are really cute.

Not only squirrels, but they also keep chipmunks as pets too. Back in 2002 I was in Okazaki, Aichi and walked into a pet store that had chipmunks in a cage, it was quite weird.
