Watching news may no longer be the same because soon your news can be read by Misato Katsuragi from Evangelion. This news service is part of a downloadable content on the PS3 that is being released by Bandai Namco starting 6 June 2009.
The Misato Katsuragi News Project 「葛城ミサト報道計画」 is a software engine that will aggregate daily news and then the voice synthesis engine will have Misato read the news blurbs in realtime as if she was the newscaster for a television program called Nerv News 24.
To make things even more exciting, folks can customize the backdrop of the news studio, and even Misato’s appearance.

Somehow I’m sure they will soon start releasing a limited edition Rei news caster that you have to pay them money so that she can read news to you. And I betcha there will be losta otaku that willing subscribe to such services. LOL
omg omg omg, i need this, i bet i wont be able to get it on my ps3, i want downloadable content for disgaea 3 but i cant get that cos its japanese, is there a way to get foreign downloads on ps3?????

i look at the ps3 as more of a all-in-1 setup u got ur gaming u got ur blue-ray and u got ur linux……and there makin lots of head way in unlocking hardware accelaration for linx on ps3 $471 for a living room super computer if i had the money id buy simply cause i could mod it just my 2cents

Well, I was about to try it (I’m in U.S., just set up a jp PSN account and buy a PSN card.<–even this has expiration date, forcing you to use it… ) I thought it was a game and I thought this was like a mission briefing at first, you know… 報道。。。but then even for 800 yen, it only works for a month, it becomes like a subscription thing. They sure did make some money generating software/games… darn it. I’ll just watch the news over on youtube or something.
