Take for instance, this unemployed 19-year-old man who was arrested for theft on Wednesday, accused of stealing a bag containing some 24,000 yen from a 44-year-old woman on April 22.

Police said the man had approached the woman from behind on his motorbike and grabbed her bag as he rode past. After raiding his house, the police managed to recover more than 100 items from the suspect, including wallets and credit cards. He has admitted to the theft on April 22 and told police he had stolen from people about 70 times.
