We know that Japanese are known to fork out tons of money for a preimum melon, just like the Watermelon Auctioned For Record 650,000 Yen last year. But how much would they pay for this heart-shaped watermelon?

Apparently they are being sold for a price 15,750 yen ($160) each. The heart-shaped watermelon was invented by a farmer couple from Kumamoto. They took 3 years to create it and said that it symbolizes their passion for farming and their affection for each other.

I still can’t understand why would someone pay 160USD for a wierd shaped watermelon when you can probably buy 10 normal melons with the money.

LOL sounds like a great money making scheme .. I shall make losta heart-shaped stuff and sell them to girls like you
