Deer Mascot Replaces Kusanagi As Digital TV Promoter

Following last week news of SMAP’s Kusanagi Arrested For Indecency, the Association for Promotion of Digital Broadcasting has decided that they needed a change in spokesperon to promote the switch from analogue to digital television broadcasts.

The new deer charater “Chidejika” was unveiled by the Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Kunio Hatoyama on Monday. The Minister also expressed his support for Kusanagi:

“I believe Kusanagi will reflect on his actions and bounce back. In his absence we’ll need our new character to do his best.”

Actually, I’m not too excited by the new mascot but how Japanese folks are making fun of it. I especially like this photoshopped picturewhere the deer’s costume read “Whats wrong with being naked?” (Kusangi’s famous phrase when he was apprehended). LOL

What could happen if “Chidejika” runs nude and being drunk? History could repeat itself you know. Poor Kusanagi, being replaced by a deer.

I would have preferred a female idol instead.
