Remember last week’s story about the theif who escaped from police station because cop fell asleep? Well there’s another even funnier story where the suspect managed to drug the police officer’s tea before making his escape. LOL

Naoto Tsuge, unemployed, of Naka, Ibaraki Prefecture, was arrested on April 16 for attempted theft after breaking into a car, and was questioned by the 30-year-old senior policeman alone at Mito Police Station’s interrogation room from 2 p.m. on Friday, according to local police.
The police officer then prepared two plastic cups of tea for himself and Tsuge, and later became dazed and fell asleep shortly after he exchanged his cup for Tsuge’s at the request of the suspect.
When the policeman awoke at around 4:30 p.m., he found one of the iron bars covering the room’s window had been removed and Tsuge had gone missing.
Police said the sleep-inducing agent triazolam was detected in the policeman’s urine sample taken on Friday and in the tea left in his cup, but not in the tea in Tsuge’s cup. The policeman was quoted as saying that he doesn’t use sleeping drugs in his daily life. Tsuge is believed to have mixed the sleeping drug into the tea he offered the policeman.
From the time of Tsuge’s initial arrest, the Mito Police Station continued to question him and conducted a body search on him almost every day, but no sleeping drug was found. The police therefore suspect that the drugs were passed to him by his friends who paid him a visit.

This is just so funny I can’t help wonder how do all these police officers pass their entrance exam to enter the police force.

Well if I ever want to be a thief or get involved in a life of crime, I just need to get to Japan and I’ll be all set.
