As you folks already know by now, I tried to pull a fast one on April Fools’ Day by annoucing a blog merger. Unfortunately, none of you folks fell for it. o_o
So here’s an after review exercise to examine why the prank failed and how to improve next year:
- Posted Too Late:
I thought that I posted the article too late when everyone had probably been pranked or were awakened to the fact that it is already 1st April. Maybe next time, I will try something on the 31st March instead. - Story not convincing enough:
The story was probably not convincing enough. I should have went out to buy a domain name. That would seem more realistic. - Not enough shock:
Lastly, the article probably didn’t bring enough shock to you folks. If only I could have thought of something similar to the Dragon Quest IX prank.
Well now I have another 364 days to plan for my next sinister plan. Hopefully I will be able to prank some readers next time. =P
I think the idea itself didn’t have enough shock value. >_>
And as a blog owner who put up a joke myself, I was suspect of everything today. ^^;
i always say that its the ones that dont sound like a prank that are the best..i.e keep it simple
i guess its more that you are trying to make them believe than make them shocked..cause with the latter they would straight away know what day it is
Hmmm … that is a tough one … but I guess I have 300+ days to come up with something good =P
heh..next time shld inform earlier..otherwise is kinda hard to coordinate as others have school/work/etc =D

I think the prank was not that bad. Only problem was the timing. We need at least one week before April´s fool to do a good prank…Next time pal..

tbh i didnt know it was april fools day until i read the first guys post and i was like “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO”
also i went onto the webstie u were supposedly merging with and they had a banner made up for it and everything….later in the day i tried to go on alafista.com and i couldnt get on!
i was convinced!
