Japan is an earthquake prone country and it was just a matter of time before they made an anime series about a major earthquake. Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 was announced by BONES at the Tokyo International Anime Fair 2009, and the series is confirmed for July 2009.
As the title suggest, the anime series will depict what would happen if an 8.0 earthquake took place in Tokyo.
BONES will attempt to realistically portray the consequences of such a tremor after collecting data on actual earthquakes and interviewing people.
