Special X Japan Hello Kitties

If you thought visual kei and kawaii Hello Kitties don’t go hand in hand, you might be wrong. Sanrio has somehow managed to convince X Japan into a collaboration where they will be releasing “Visual Band Kitty”, characters dressed like X Japan. 0_O
According to MSN Sankei‘s report, Yoshiki of X Japan loves Hello Kitty and actually carried along some Hello Kitty merchandise during their tour in September 2008.
昨年９月にサンケイスポーツが同行したアジアプロモーションでは、ＹＯＳＨＩＫＩもキティちゃんのぬいぐるみに公式Ｔシャツを着せて持ち歩くなどお気に入りの様子だった。

X-Japan was one of the first real Japanese bands I listened to so this is a big deal for me.
I’ve been having a torrid love affair with HK since I was a child. Completely love-hate. Several years I’ll love her to death, the next several hate her bloody guts. I know, it’s turmulous.
Well for the last 2-ish years I’ve been back into her and hard core. Plus, I rekindled my love of pink as well. Which was about as chaotic as my HK relationship.
Now, I don’t mean to sound weird but Yoshiki is like the prince of f-ing cool. I mean it’s one thing to meet a 45 year old man during homestay who loves stuffed animals but it’s quite another to find out Yoshiki likes Hello Kitty. Talk about topsy turvey my f-ing world.
Yeah that’s right X-Japan kitties and I am about to go fangirl.

Just goes to show you can’t judge a book by it’s cover… but this is probably one heck of a marketing ploy. LOL.
