Tetsuwan Birdy DECODE Gets An OVA

We have news confirmation that Tetsuwan Birdy DECODE will be getting an OVA titled 「Tetsuwan Birdy DECODE -THE CIPHER-」.

The OVA is reportedly ties up the story between the first and second season of the anime series. The OVA is scheduled to be release on 22 Jul 09.

Anyone watch the series before? I have never watch it so I have no idea what the story is about.

    The series is about a humanoid space federation officer (Birdy) follows some criminals to planet earth and inadvertently kills a high school student named Tsutomu. Since it is accidental, Birdy is forced to share or merge her body with Tsutomu’s soul while his body is repaired back on her home planet.

    So while Birdy continues to try and pursue her criminals, Tsutomu is trying to live his life of a high school student.
    The TV show has action, drama, and comedy. The old OVA made back in the mid to late 90s is the same story as the TV series, just told in a different way.

    I love Birdy the Mighty. It’s one of my all time favorite animes out there :)
