Nowadays kids must have watched too many detective dramas to think they can overpower thieves and help the police out. In Sendai prefecture, a 11-year-old boy tracked a thief for over a kilometer back home, which later led to the shoplifter arrest.

The sixth-grade elementary schoolboy witness a man stealing a box of 20 DVDs from a light van belonging to the 45-year-old owner of a secondhand bookstore near the suspect’s house.
So after informing the storeowner of the theft, the boy decided to play detective and tailed the thief all the way back to his house. The boy said:
I discreetly followed him
The boy then report the apartment location to the police nad bookstore manager.

LOL I’m sure the thief would be pissed to know that he was busted by a smart ass kid playing detective.

You go kid!
Still, I hope this doesn’t encourage other kids to go looking for trouble. A shoplifter isn’t so bad, but what if he had been tailing a more serious criminal? And what if he hadn’t been so discreet? D;
I guess no criminal would suspect that a tiny schoolkid was actually tailing him back home. Besides, he probably short and tiny enough to hide behind many objects along the way.
That wasn’t some random schoolboy, but Conan in disguise.
