If you thought strawberries only came in red, you should check out these white strawberries which are called “Hatsukoi no kaori” (The Scent of First Love).
These strawberries are being cross bred by Miyoshi Agritech Co about 20 years back until they finally became almost totally white, just a hint of pinkish left in them.
However, these white strawberries don’t come cheap because each one cost between 840 and 1,050 yen each. A box containing six red and six white strawberries will set you back by 8,400 yen. o.O

I think these famers must be mad to be selling 12 strawberrise for a little less than 100 USD. I rather buy a carton of normal strawberry instead. In fact, I don’t find white strawberries visually apetising as well.
White Strawberries are the result of growing generation after generation of persistantly paler fruit, in nature this would never happen because fruit needs to be bright for a variety of reasons.
If you buy these Strawberries you are buying inferior fruit! Not to mention ugly fruit lol Why would anyone want to do that?!?!?
LOL now that you mention that fruits should be brightly colored, it makes even more sense that those strawberries are bleh.

Really? These aren’t expensive at all, you just have to look in the right place. They’re technically not strawberries, i believe they’re called pineberries. They’re supposed to taste like pineapple.
