Tokyo Goes Green

Ever wonder how Tokyo would look like if all the pavement and roads were suddenly replaced by grass?

The project is a collaboration between creative director Tag (Ryo Taguchi), photo retoucher IMKW (Imakawa), and contemporary artist Immr (Yuichiro Imamura).

Actually the shopping district looks pretty cool with the well-manicured grass. But then again, you might not welcome the thought of the grass and soil dirtying those expensive boots you just bought from the fashion boutique.

Save the road, but keeping the pavements green might be good.

Those cars look out of place on greenery.

    Probably sucked if it rained.

  5. Yeah somehow looks cool, somehow weird.. I’m just wondering how long will that beautiful green last with all the cars…
I’d prefer to have some real big parks, trees and some space between the buildings in Tokyo rather than covering everything with grass..

It looks nice, but just grass? I would think a return to nature would involve some more arbor and flora. Of course, if the streets were really covered in grass, they soon start looking like the National Mall in Washington DC; dying grass and bare patches from too many people walking on the grass.
