Japanese Inmate Sues Prison For Dirty Cell

A Japanese inmate detained at the Matsue Prison in Matsue, Shimane Prefecture, has filed a suit against the government, arguing he suffered mental distress due to the unsanitary condition of his prison cell. o_O
He is seeking 1 million yen in compensation from the state and the prison. He claims that the prison dried his bedding in the sun only three times during the 21-month period through June last year, causing him to suffer from ticks and lice.
Matsue Prison replies that it conducts mattress airing systematically in accordance with weather conditions, although the area has a lot of rain.
