Here’s a piece of funny news: Two robbers who managed to snatch a plastic bag with abou 2 million yen in cash dropped the bag in a street when they hit a cyclist as they ran away in Hirakata, Osaka Prefecture, police said Wednesday.

The robbers had earlier robber a food shop manager and his employee while they were were trying to deposit the money into a night safe in the Hirakata branch of Kyoto Shinkin Bank.

The two men then approached and sprayed tear gas at them, stole the bag and ran off, pursued by the manager and employee, police said. The 28-year-old employee caught up with them, but the men beat him with what is believed to have been a wooden sword, inflicting minor injuries, police said.
