Homeless Tents

Spotted this interesting photo on JapanToday, and initially thought they were just normal goods placed along the walkway. Turned out that they were actually tents made by the homeless, along the Sumida River in Tokyo.

Just wondering why their tents are cube-shaped instead of the usual tent shap that we see during camping.

More space overhead if you shape it that way I guess^^
You also see those kind of tents in Tokyo Godfathers I believe.

my god…. even the homeless live in style! they have bikes n everything! its a square because its a permanent home, not like a tent

looks like a lot more of a safe environment than lots of “slums” around the world.

also, i wish my abode overlooked a river.
