Japanese Woman Jailed After Killing Virtual Husband

Sometimes things get really ugly after people get a divorce. This 43-year-old Japanese piano teacher was so pissed off with her husband who suddenly divorced her that she logged onto his Maple Story account and deleted his character. LOL

She now she had landed herself in jail for viciously murdering her ex-husband’s character.

When the man discovered the death of his character, he called the police. The alleged virtual murderer has now been jailed for suspicion of illegally accessing a computer and manipulating electronic data, which could carry a five-year prison sentence or a fine of up to $5,000.

Possibly the most pathetic thing ever.

Why not sentenced the wife to build a new character until it reached the same stats as the original character? Suing someone to jail over online game is just stupid.

If she’s convicted for the vicious murder of a character, then quite a few fanfic writers should also be imprisoned. :P

@ Mike: Come to think of it, it does sound kinda pathetic. “I can’t kill you, but I can kill your online character!! Muahaha”

@ Kresnik: Haha thats a really great idea.

@ Dee: I loved Call Of Duty 4, can’t wait for 5 to be released.

@ Leefe: Yeah … they could. My friend got hacked and lost his characters but they managed to restore it.

@ KiTT: LOL maybe I will read about you in the headlines soon.

@ Caitlin: I agree!! I still can’t get over L being killed in Death Note.

Probably, an act of complete stupidity…

This was just one of those days when people, as Byakuya states, let emotions get in the way of their judgement. Such behavior is acting out of fear. So people, whether offline or online, have to be more careful.
