Popular JPOP Group Speed Reunites

I still remember the days of my youth when I was listening to this 4 member Jpop group called Speed. They initially disbanded in March, 2000, and now they will reunite again at the end of this month.

The popular group consisting of Okinawa-born singers — Hitoe Arakaki, Takako Uehara, Eriko Imai and Hiroko Shimabukuro — will hold a concert at Tokyo’s Nippon Budokan that will be broadcast on Nippon Television’s 24-hour TV program on Aug. 30 and Aug. 31.

The last time all the members performed live together was in autumn 2003, when they temporarily reunited for a two-month concert tour.

Speed will consider getting back together permanently depending on the reaction of their fans, the group’s talent agency said.

I wonder if they will still remain popular after this long period of absence.
