Japanese & Their Bum-Washing Toilet Seats

Submitted by Alafista on Wednesday, 20 August 20084 Comments

Here’s an interesting survey on the Japanese hot water bum-washing toilet seat usage.

The internet-based survey was conducted with 658 members of the CLUB BBQ free email forwarding service.  51.2% of the sample were male, 13.2% in their twenties, 47.0% in their thirties, 28.6% in their forties, and 11.2% in their teens or fifty or older.

Here’s the survey results:

All Male
N=337
Female
N=321
Every time 49.2% 57.9% 40.2%
Sometimes 25.2% 16.3% 34.6%
Don’t use 17.3% 16.6% 18.1%
Never used 8.2% 9.2% 7.2%

Looks like about half of the surveyed Japanese have no problem with the hot water bum-washing toilet seat.

How about you? Do you look forward to using it at least once in your life? Or how was your first experience like?
