With Comiket 74 planned for 15-17 August, its interesting to see that Touhou stuffs have grown immensely in popularity over the past 5 years.
According to the research done by August Dojin Database, the number of circles that have been creating Touhou stuffs have shot up over the past 5 years. From a lowly 7 circles in 2003 to the incredible 885 circles in 2008.

They are already having trouble with the huge crowds at the recent reitaisai. If this continues, Comiket would have to rent a seperate location and call it Touhou-ket. LOL

Hmm.. I see they dropped from 574 circles to 558 in 2006-2007.
theyre not popular just because of the characters, the music is PERFECT and the gameplay solid.
