Nico Nico To Remove Anime Videos

Submitted by Alafista on Wednesday, 2 July 20089 Comments

Nico Nico Douga has sign a new agreement with various copyright owners and will be subsequently removing any anime video and MADs that are in violation of copyright law.

They have signed the agreement with the Association of Japanese Anime (AJA, Japan Video Software Association (JVA) and Motion Picture Producers Association (MPPA).

The companies that are represented by these bodies include anime studios such as Studio Ghibli, Sunrise,  Kadokawa Shoten, Toei, Gonzo, Sony Pictures and Toho etc. Basically there are more around 80 members being represented by the 3 organizations.
