FFVII Director: Original Team Must Be Assembled For Remake
We all know that Japan have voted Final Fantasy VII deserve a remake, but what are the actual possibilities of it happening?
Here’s how Square Enix’s Yoshinori Kitase, director of the original Final Fantasy VII has to say about remaking the game:
My feelings are that if a remake were to work well then all the core members of the original team must be reassembled, all the artists and designers.The problem is that, although all of us have an idea of what a remake should be and how to do it, organising such a thing right now is logistically very difficult. All the different members are now involved in very new, very large projects like Final Fantasy XIII and those projects are going to take a while.
Maybe, when all those games are finished then we can look at doing something like that.
Of course, that said we came up with the idea for Crisis Core in just two days. It was a case of ‘this is what we want to do, so let’s do it’. So, you can definitely expect the probability of something spontaneous happening at some point, but it’s hard to predict.

Maybe SONY will somehow pressure them into making a remake soon else the PS3 is just going to be trampled over by all fun games Nintendo are producing on the Wii.

If there will be a remake that would be a serious argument for me buying a PS3 …
But I doubt that the PS3 will be trampled over by Wii-titles. There were some stats over at Kotaku showing that most of the Wii-titles were crappy (in terms of review-rankings). Quantity over quality - similar to the DS, thousands of games but most of them are crap.
if there is a remake, it is probably not for another 2 or 3 years.
I want to see how long Wii can last, the only games that sell well are Nintendo games. Also many people only play the Wii sport come with it and never buy other games.
You know, there should be a remake for Xenogears way more than FFVII but that is even more unlikely.

@tj han, I absolutely agree. Xenogears was a fantastic game, though the second disc was a little.. not too good IMO.

I agree with tj han. Xenogears is a great game and the only bad thing about it is the graphic. If that game gets a remake, then I will be more than happy.
