Eva:1.0 DVD Sells 219,000 Copies Within First Week

The past few days have been insane in Akihabara whereby all the limited edition Evangelion 1.0 DVD set have bee swept up by the hungry otaku.
In fact, business has been so good that 219,000 DVDs have been sold in less than one week of sales, making this the best selling DVD for 2008.

The set which is super popular is the “Special Equipment Edition” which has a bonus film strip included in each set. Double has a couple of photos of those film strips on his blog. I wonder how much will the crazy otaku bid for those precious film strips with Rei in it.

omg omg omg! i want! i saw a clip of death and rebirth and end of evangelion and i was blown away (thats right i havent even seen those yet!) it hard to get hold of those two films in the UK now……. but i cant wait for this!

I ordered my copy and it is almost at my hands….I am still thinking what scene I got…Just saw the auctions at Yahoo Japan….gosh, the film strip where Rei smiles has now a 1,000+ price tag….o_O….
