Man Jumps Off Moving Shinkansen
Just when I reported about a man stripping naked on a bullet train yesterday, today there is news that a man had jumped off a moving bullet train and was found dead Tuesday night near a bridge in the city of Iwata, Shizuoka Prefecture.
According to JR Tokai, the driver of Nozomi No. 150 bound for Tokyo from Osaka made the emergency stop while running between Hamamatsu and Kakegawa stations in the prefecture after noticing a light indicating that the door of car No. 3 was open.
A passenger in the car reported to the company that the man opened the door and jumped. The man is believed to have opened the door using an emergency door cock. The incident occurred as JR Tokai is modifying its bullet trains so that emergency door cocks cannot be operated while a train is running.

According to Wikipedia, the shinkansen moves at a speed of 443 km/h (275 mph). So does that mean the location they found him was very far from where the driver made the emergency stop? If that is so, I wonder how they located his body.
Occurrences like these seem to be so common now it’s reached a point of hilarity.
