Submitted by Alafista on Wednesday, 9 April 20084 Comments

Do you know your branded goods? According to a recent survey by the Japan Youth Research Institute last fall, Japanese high school students are more brand conscious than their counterparts in other countries.

The survey was conducted with 5,394 high school students in Japan, the United States, China and South Korea.

Here are some of the results:

56.5 percent said they are influenced by advertisement on TV

Japanese high school kids were found to be most sensitive to fashion, ranking at the top to such questions as: do you want to mimic celebrity fashions; do you refuse to wear out-of-date outfits; and do you feel rich by owning brand goods.

When it came to managing their allowances:

23.6 percent said their parents asked them about how they spend their allowance and 48.6 percent of Japanese high school students were taught by their parents about the importance of saving money.

However, 88.4 percent said that they should save money for the future.

How techno savy are Japanese high school kids?:

96.5 percent of high school students own a personal cellphone but only 21 percent of high school students having their own PCs.

So what about you?

Are you very brand conscious and frequently buy fashionable clothing, bags, etc? Or are you a gadetholic? Or you just enjoy saving your money and watch the money grow?
