Utada Hikaru - Heart Station

Yesterday evening I passed by the CD store and I decided to grab a copy of Utada Hikaru’s Heart Station. I wanted to hear for myself why this album was a top seller for consecutive 5 weeks and sold 480,000 copies in the first week.

Utada Hikaru - Heart Station

Since this album marks Utada Hikaru’s 10th anniversary in the music industry, the CD is also one of the most heavily promoted album so far. There were free ringtones downloads, promotions on Mixi, and many more tie-ups, theme songs, etc. If you are curious, you can read it on wikipedia.

There are a total of 13 tracks on this album.

  1. “Fight The Blues” - 4:10
  2. “Heart Station” - 4:36
  3. “Beautiful World” - 5:17
  4. “Flavor of Life -Ballad Version-” - 5:25
  5. “Stay Gold” - 5:14
  6. “Kiss & Cry” - 5:06
  7. “Gentle Beast Interlude” - 1:13
  8. “Celebrate” - 4:26
  9. “Prisoner Of Love” - 4:46
  10. “Teiku 5 (テイク 5)” - 3:42
  11. “Boku wa Kuma (ぼくはくま)” - 2:23
  12. “Niji-iro Basu (虹色バス)” - 5:50
  13. “Flavor of Life” [Bonus Track] - 4:46

I think the first track “Fight The Blues” has to be my most favorite track on this album. I like the lyrics because it talks about being strong and not getting yourself down.

Here’s a youtube video of the song being performed at Music Lovers:

Other tracks which I really liked were, Heart Station, Stay Gold and Flavor Of Life -Ballad Version-.

Well 10 years in the music industry is something that isn’t easy to achieve. I hope this album will mark a new start for another 10 years.
