The Lucky☆Star fever in Saitama just keep getting worser and weirder. Satte City in Saitama Prefecture decided that it wasn’t enough after introducing the Lucky☆Star Sake, so they decided to introduce Lucky☆Star street lamps.

100 of the street lamps in Satte City already have Lucky☆Star design acrylic boards mounted onto the panels.
The city intends to install more of these Lucky☆Star design acrylic boards on 530 of the street lamps, so that the entire town becomes one with Lucky☆Star.
There are a total 8 different designs:

I think the people of Saitama are crazy. LOL
At the same time, I actually find it rather repulsive that they are trying so hard to “milk” the Lucky☆Star phenomenon. I wonder how many people in Saitama Prefecture have actually watched Lucky☆Star.

Tourist attraction ^^
Well there going above and beyond…
Tourist attraction? I think it’d scare most people away… did the people in Saitama agree to this Lucky Star make over? Or is the old dudes just doing everything on their own?
Kyoto Animation continues to make a killing off this series.
Lets hope they dont steal those acrylic boards like the manhole covers thefts in your post….
The only remaining thing is to call the seiyuus of Lucky Star and run for honorary governors….Konata Izumi FOR MAYOR!!!
I see an army of otaku armed with screwdrivers coming.
@ pp: Yeah its so aimed at otaku tourists.
@ Hei: I think its kinda creepy to normal folks to see a city so obsessed with fictional characters from an anime series.
@ Crisu: I think they should just setup their new HQ there. LOL
@ Toonleap: Haha. Can you imagine Konata as honorary mayor? That would be funny.
@ Gevulde Kex:Haha. It would be funny if someone was arrested by the police trying to steal one of those street lamps.
“I think the people of Saitama are crazy. LOL”
same goes with the rest of japan XDD
