Japanese Gravestones With QR Code

QR codes are practically everywhere in Japan nowadays, but now Japanese gravestone maker Ishi no Koe (“Voice of the Stone”) recently announced their new radicial ideas to begin selling gravestones with QR codes embedded into them.

By simply snapping a shot of the tag with their cellphones, visitors will be able to view photos, videos and other information about the deceased. The device would also keep a log of each time the code was scanned so family members can keep up to date with when other relatives last visited the site.

This is certainly unheard of, but I think its a really innovative concept. Instead of just going to the cemetery and staring at the gravestone, visitors and relatives can reminisce our the deceased in a more interactive way.

I think soon we will see people tattooing QR codes onto their own skin.
