Introducing New Site Layout
Its been a week since I’ve changed my blog layout and I’ve spent some time tweaking misc stuffs such as my banner, favicon, etc.
Now I’m going to officially introduce the new site layout and provide some guide to navigating my site.
Firstly would be the top portion of the site, where most of the action happens.
You can see from the drop-down menu that I’ve reorganized my site into 5 root categories: Gravure X Idol, Groovin JTunes, Japan, Otaku and Site Admin. I will go into more details of the categories later.
The highlighted box is my Lead Story: featuring the latest post from the Otaku category.
On the right is the Recent Stories box: This is where you can see which are the 6 most recent blog postings irregardless of their categories.
One of the nicest feature of this site is the Carousel: Users can scroll through to see the latest post from the Figures category.
I’m still undecided whether to continue using the Carousel to display the Figures category or switch it to display either Gravure or Japan. What do you folks think?
Now we will move on to the middle section of the site: All the various categories have their own little space here with their latest post being featured, followed by another 3 most recent posts links.
I’d take the chance to introduce the various categories.
Gravure X Idol:
This is the place if you want to find out the hottest news of Japanese female celebrities and idols. In addition, I will also feature a weekly photo gallery of Gravure Idols.
Groovin JTunes:
I will occasionally share and review the albums which I’ve purchased or managed to secure early via open source.
Japan:
This would be the place to read some of the interesting news stories from Japan. In addition, I will also feature nice Bentos under this section.
Otaku:
This would be the main content of this site. All the latest happening in Akiba, Otaku Events, Anime & Figure News, and my occasion rant about Kamen Riders are all found here.
Site Admin:
Announcements pertaining to this site would come under here.
Moving on the the last bottom section of the site: Recent Archives, Recent Comments and Most Popular Post are all found here.
So there you have it, a brief tour of my new site layout. Do feedback to me whether you like this layout. Does it improve your surfing experience on my site?

I really want the Mimbo Pro theme (but unwilling to pay $89 or however much the license costs, so I’ll stick with my Mimbo 2.2), but it feels rather cluttered. I do think it’s very clean though and it works pretty well for a news-oriented blog such as yours.
yay! the recent archive is what i was after! i guess i didnt scrolll down far enough, lol well great site congrats on the successful new look and explaining it in a way that idiots like me can navigate it easily. GO NEW SITE!!

Urgh. I can never spend so much on a theme. but it suits your kind of site v well.
my first adsense earnings went to figurines. hoho
