Language School Teaches “Cosplish”

Submitted by Alafista on Monday, 10 March 20085 Comments

If you ever want to take English language lessons in “Moeng” or Cosplish”, you can try this wierd language school in Japan.

This language center in Japan actually teaches its students “bad broken English”, and its targeting otaku as their main customers..

For instance, one of the language classes at this school have their instructors dressed up in cosplay and then teaching Cosplish – a mix of English and Cosplay Slang.

There is also “Moeng” — a combination of “moe”, which is geeky Japanese slang for “cute”, and “English”.

Students also get to learn slangs that are used in English chatrooms such as “b4″, “ftw”, etc.

The owner, Suzuki says, “If you go to an English school in Japan, they only teach you one set expression or conversation,” he said. “We teach many different ways. It’s informal, practical, everyday English.”

Reading this article reminded me of Moetan and all her bizarre English translations.

I think this school is scam, maybe the instructors at this language school have bad command of English, so all they can teach is all these weird broken English slangs which doesn’t have much practical use in real life.

If I’d wanted to learn bad English, all I need to do is watch a couple of episodes of Moetan.
