Oricon Poll: Japan’s Favorite Manga Artist

Marketing research firm Oricon has posted their poll results on who is Japan’s favorite manga artists.

The 2008 poll was conducted during February 12-15 over the Internet with 600 panelists, evenly divided by gender and three age ranges: teenagers, people in their 20s, and people in their 30s.

Here’s the overall result of the poll:

After the breakdown, you can see that the male and female readers prefer different artist all together. I think the female readers prefer artist’s design and artwork while the male readers are more focused on an epic storyline.So who are your own top 5 manga artist?
