There are a shit load of confounders here and the sample isn't randomised. A pretty big chunk of online games are in their teens. According to the survey, only 2% of the people who answered are in their teens. In other words, this isn't exactly representative of the real deal. If the question: "How often do you play computer games offline?" was asked, then you wouldn't get a high percentage either. The title of this post is: “Only 40% of Japanese Play Online Games” 40% of a whole country is a LOT.
