Byousoku 5cm Win Asia Pacific Screen Awards

Makoto Shinkai’s latest work, Byousoku 5 Centimeters 『秒速5センチメートル』 recently took home the award for Best Animated Feature Film at the first annual Asia Pacific Screen Awards.

The award is designed to help promote and showcase film making in the Asia Pacific region, it is the hope that this award ceremony will become an annual event. The event is sponsored by CNN International, UNESCO, the International Federation of Film Producers Associations, and the State Government of Queensland, Australia.

For those that are living in Singapore and would like to watch the film on the big screen. Here’s your only chance on November 28. Animation Nation will be screening it at the National Museum. So if you have 7 bucks to spare and is free at 7pm, do go catch it.
