Females Play Eroge Too
Well here’s some interesting statistics - seems like 27% of eroge players are actually female. Thats actually like 1 out of 5.
I’ve started wondering about this question since I saw Konata playing eroge in Lucky Star. I kept thinking, “do girls actually play eroge”. The only person I knew who played otome game is of course, the famous Hinano, who writes reviews of the otome games she played.
Since we are on the topic of sexually explicit materials for females, people might be interested in reading this very nice article on “Excessive Sexual Material in Shoujo Manga“.

Just thought I would make a comment, 27% I wouldn’t exactly call 1 in 5, it would be more slightly more than 1 in 4, probably just an oversight, but thought I would let you know.

Speaking of which…wouldn’t it be better if they made more visual novels that does not contain H?
I mean, the stories seems to have gotten pretty good, but sometimes the H-scenes just seems to be stuffed in because they have too…?
Then maybe more people could enjoy them…but…I think the whole genre needs to come up with some new things in their formula before it all comes crashing down : P
I’m an eroge-playing female. I mostly prefer sweet romances like Kanon and NatsuDrops. Games that are too dark or only focus on sex don’t interest me.
More like 1 out of 4, in fact. ^^;
