Saimoe 2007 Finals: Nagi VS Rina
After many weeks of grueling voting for your favorite characters, the 2 finalist have finally emerged.
The finals of Saimoe tournament will be held this Saturday on the 3rd November with the Sanzenin Nagi from Hayate no Gotoku battling it out with Furude Rika from Higurashi.
I have been voting for Shana in the beginning and then I switched to Nagi when Shana lost to her. So in the finals I will be putting all my money on Nagi.
Who will you be voting for and who do you think will win?

I think Nagi will win, although I’m personally all for Rika. The Hayate faction is too large, especially when you add the Kugimiya fans from Shana and Louise.
Rika’s Higurashi fans might get a boost from those who had supported Rena, but who knows.
Both are lolis, so the vote is split on that fandom. Nagi gets the twintailed-tsundere-otaku-loving voters. Rika, though beatifully complex, doesn’t have as many “popular” traits.
But I still love Rika-chama.

Kugimiya Rie vs. Tamura Yukari. Could do a lot worse. Another demonstration that the seiyuu is important to the success of a character.
This year, it seems to me that both of the finalists are in fact moe, as opposed to just popular. Since true moe (Akamatsu Ken definition) involves vulnerability and inciting in the observer the desire to protect, it’s unavoidable that moe and lolis go together.

@ Hashihime: You know now that you mentioned it, it seems like I’m kinda more voting for Rie Kygimiya than actually voting for Nagi.
