Akira Live-Action Adapation Still Alive
Its been around 4 years since we last heard any news about this Live-action adapation of the cult favorite Akira. Warner Bros has now reportedly hired Ruairi Robinson to direct this movie.

Previously the project was supposed to be under Stephen Norrington (The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and Blade) with a script from James Robinson, but seems like the deal just fell through and we heard no news since 2003.

Ruairi Robinson is an Oscar-nominated, yet relatively unknown director. But I’m guessing that with all the hype from the recent successful adaptations of Death-Note, Warner Brothers has decided to take the Akira project out from the shelve to go up against the upcoming live-action Dragon Ball Z (Century Fox).
