Japan’s Defence Ministy has been known for using elements of pop culture to attract youth audience. For instance, they previously used a loli spokesperson for their ministry. This time round they are using the best icon of all: GUNDAM

Their Technical R&D Institue is holding a Defense Technology Symposium on October 29. The interesting thing is that on their schedule, on the November 7-8, there is an exhibit titled “Towards the Realization of Gundam (Advanced Personal Equipment System).” The exhibit runs alongside another one for a “Miniature Robot (for Reconnaissance and Data Gathering). It seems like Japan is really heading in the high tech direction.

As DannyChoo has mentioned in his posting,
“After Japan lost the last war, they signed a treaty that stated that Japan was not allowed to form an army of humans. But there was nothing in the treaty mentioning that Japan wasn’t allowed to form an army of Gundams…”
LOL it would really pwnz if Japan were to work towards producing a Mobile Suit. But I’m guessing its just all a publicity stunt for them.

They should probably hire some beautiful uniform wearing personnels in the exhibit. That would help to spark some ideas for their realization of Gundam.
I wonder what other crazy ideas would Japan’s Defence Ministry be coming up with soon?

Lol.. if that is true I sure hope it doesn’t fall into the wrong hands..
what makes you think SAF isn’t researching on its own Gundam project?
*Filling out immigration papers* Gaijin can join the JDM, can’t they?*Gleam of hope in eye.*
