Nico Nico International Film Festival

This is a piece of interesting news. For those that frequent Nico Nico, the Japanese streaming media site, you would have already known that Nico Nico is holding a film festival – Nico Nico International Film Festival (国際ニコニコ映画祭). That means you can send in your own exciting creations!

Video submissions will be open on November 1st and end on November 11th. Of course there are certain limitations. For instance, videos must have a minimum length of 15 seconds and 1 minute maximum. No copyrighted works are permitted (unless used upon request of the original creators).

I wonder if we can get to see any interesting submissions. I always love to check out Nico Nico, there’s just so many cool stuffs and videos to check out. But I’m guessing that the restriction of the length of the film is way too strict. 1 minute isn’t really sufficient to produce anything that will turn into a blockbuster.
