Producers Response to Higurashi Taken off

Recently I reported that Higurashi was Taken off Teletama, now the Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai Official Website has been updated with their own response to this unfortunate incident.

Basically, they are saying that its unfortunate that the television station has decided to cancel the show abruptly. They were unable to convince Teletama to revoke their decision. They also mentioned that violence isn’t the main theme of the anime series. Thanks to pcp for the info.

I guess at the moment with all the commotion and stir created by the media on the influence of violence and sex that is seen in anime, it’s going to be a difficult time for the producers of Higurashi.

Maybe we should ask the question, who permitted the sex and violence in the first place? Wasn’t it the Television Companies who knew it would sell very and draw losta audience?

Edit: Somehow I’m getting quite irritated that people are going around and announcing Higurashi is being taken off without getting their facts right. Please take note that this response ONLY APPLIES to TELETAMA. Higurashi is still being aired on other TV stations.

  3. Alafista says:

Nah higurashi is still being shown on other television stations. I doubt they would cease DVD production too. Though I heard news that the manga was delayed or something.

  4. zenical says:

oh i see.. still… taking it off. -_-

  5. TP says:

Err, OK. I don’t see the need to be overzealous over its cancellation. We don’t need Jack Thompson wannabes to stomp all over our hobbies.

  6. Alafista says:

Oh Jack Thompson .. is he the guy that tries to take all the violent games such as GTA, Bully, and Manhunt to court. LOL
