The final School Days episode, on the other hand, I could totally understand them pre-empting. It was exploitive and sick. Higurashi was frequently horrifying in the latter half of season 1 but was always intelligent and well-written. It'd be so dumb if they cancelled it because of its image and not for its actual content.
