There was alot of hype yesterday on Kodomo no Jikan. Apparently, the latest issue of Kodomo no Jikan Vol. 04 was released with a nice OVA DVD, which was supposedly “uncensored”. Additonally, the Kodomo no Jikan official website also has a trailer which they describe as unfit for broadcast on TV.
I’ve been read volumes of the manga and I would say that the contents are rather controversial. Basically it revolves around a third grader Rin Kokonoe who has this huge crush on her teacher. However, her methods of showing love are really explicit. For instance, she enjoys sending sexy photos of herself to Aoki-sensei’s handphone or flashing her panties at him.
But the story just doesn’t stop there. Its a huge love triangle cause Rin’s friend Kuro Kagami is strangely in love with Rin. Therefore, you can expect some yuri fantasies to pop up from time to time. Its really funny to read how she devices way to deal with her love rival Aoki-sensei.
Then the last moe character is Mimi Usa, she the well-developed third grader. Her role is more of the moe klutzy character, kinda similar to what Mikuru is in SOS-dan. However, from time to time she has some interesting internal dialogues.

Thanks to pKjd of Moetron, the OVA was uploaded on Veoh. So for those after watching the trailer who felt they can stomach the whole thing without making a huge fuss on the morality issue. Go ahead and watch the whole OVA.
The OVA drew materials from Volume 2 of the manga and I think its pretty well done. Therefore I’m pretty excited about the series when it starts airing in October.

The manga was supposed to come out this past summer in the US, but there was a lot of controversy surrounding it and the distributors pulled it at the last minute.
With no disrespect, I think Kodomo Jikan is a really perverted piece of work.
I think it’s taken the Lolicon thing a little too far. As much as I can accept homosexuality, pedophilia is still something that’s unambiguously in the cesspool of moral decency.
Oops. I must qualify that I am not comparing homosexuality to pedophilia, they’re not on the same footing – but in our society’s context, both are unacceptable to the ‘norm’.
Even if our society becomes liberal, I doubt pedophilia will be acceptable to any free-thinking mind.
I’m on the same stand as you, I think pedophillia is definitely wrong. But its still a very funny piece of manga because of the various antics that Kokonoe comes up with. I would say its like a ecchi version of Ichigo Mashimaro.
Maybe its important to watch the show with a slightly open yet cautious mind. Open to the controversy behind it and caution not to commit the fallacy of thinking “hey its seems to be describing pedophillia as okay, I guess its an okay thing”.
Well I still think Kodomo no Jikan is way better than moetan.
