NUS Anime Bazaar 2007 - FAIL

One word sums up all I have to say about the bazaar on Day 1 — FAIL. As much as I may want to applaud the effort, I still cannot help but shake my head how seriously boring *yawnzzzzz* the bazaar was.

Call me critical but when I was in the science faculty around 12pm. It didn’t look like a proper bazaar at all. Seems even lackluster compared to the pasar malam below my house. Where was the maid cafe?! Apparently the anime club people were still arranging chairs and I don’t see any meido around.

Here’s a breakdown of what I saw:
- A figurine stall that was only halfway setup and the person was still bring over more goods.
- A very boring person manning the stall that had manga (can’t really remember) and some really backdated Newtype on the table
- Quite an interesting exhibition of the Graphite 2007
- Another small interesting booth that was setup by Intense Animation Studio
- Some small stall selling pop music CDs and trinkets and stuffs (what do they have to do with an anime bazaar?)

Seriously there was more people at the canteen than at this boring bazaar. Of course, I may be too impatient and critical. But hey if you’ve stated on the flyer that 10am is the opening hour. Your stalls better be setup by then and your meidos should be standing there waiting for me.

I think that the organizers should seriously learn from how bazaars are held in the central forum at ARTS. There’s loud music, many stalls, vibrant energy and the always ever-popular milo van!

Please note that I’m not really trying to flame the bazaar. I’m just kinda disappointed in it. I appreciate them trying hard to hold such an event as well. But still I would like to see better efforts put in.

I was there around 12pm till 12.45pm waiting for Zero to arrive. Apparently if I’m not wrong he took a day leave to come down so he can have a look at the publicized “maid cafe”. I pity him LOL. Anyway he was nice to bring me some nice “gifts” which is another story for another day.

Digg!

I kinda agree but Lt27 has quite a bit of limitations on noise level, since it’s still an academic area.

Anyway, you didn’t come say hi! WTF.

@ tj: yer probably so, thats why maybe you people want to hold it in the central forum next time. I was looking around for ya too. Maybe I didn’t spot you.
