Rent A Wakamaru

Always wanted a robot? Now you can actually rent a smart little robot called “Wakamaru” for 120,000 yen a day. I read this little piece of news on Mainichi Japan.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries developed the robot, called “Wakamaru,” and the Nagoya-based job placement service, People Satff, rents it out for 120,000 yen a day.

The robot is designed to serve as a reception clerk or an event guide while it utters phrases in Japanese, such as “We were expecting you,” and “Let me lead you to the reception room.”

Apparently you can read more about Wakamaru on its concept website.

This sure is interesting. Now all we need to do is wait for Bandai to come up with rent-a-gundam in the future.
