VOLKS Custama-P Evangelion Rei and Asuka

Thanks to shiawasekun, I managed to secure the Volks Custama-P Evangelion Rei and Asuka. From what I heard, we were the only lucky 2 to get Rei in the shipment ^_^

Volks Evangelion

These pair of PVC figurines are certainly costly. Costing 6,800 yen each. They certainly burnt a huge hole in my pocket. (What else would you expect from VOLKS, their stuffs are always so high-priced.)

Since they are so costly, one would obviously expect them to be of rather high quality make. So lets look at them more closely.

Volks Evangelion

Starting with Asuka, her hair is really nicely done, I really like her facial expression as well. It makes her seems so cute that I think I’m starting to like Asuka more than Rei. However, due to her long hair, it is almost impossible to turn her head, so she can only look straight.

The paint job is pretty average, not top quality but acceptable.

Here’s a look from behind. ^_^

As for Rei, somehow I feel that her expression somehow feels like its missing something. Maybe its just me …

Similarly, the paint job is acceptable but not great. Though one thing I’m not that happy about is the rather visible joint around her neck.

Overall I still think they are a great pair of figurine to own. Though I don’t really think the price tag is justified.

I would probably place them like this on my table. ^_^

After a hard day of work, its always nice to share some ice-cream together.

Thats it for my review. For more photos and a more detail review of the figurines, you can check out shiawasekun’s review as well.
