Densha Otoko Trivia Seed

Ever wondered whether Otakus are manly enough? A Japanese TV program Trivia Seed threw 100 Akiba-kei in a situation where they had a chance to save a Saori look-alike damsel in distress.

Apparently, out of the 100 Otakus, 69 of them helped out the Saori look-alike damsel. Its really funny to see how some of them really tried their best to help despite being obviously scared shitless.

BUT

The top prize goes to the 85th otaku. Despite wearing a scary sailor-moon-thingy-dress, he disposed the “bad guy” in the most manly manner, grabbing him by the neck and dragging him away from the female in need.

Here’s the TV show split into 2 parts on youtube. Thanks again to pcp for the tip-off.

Part One

Part Two

Must be the massive exposure of Densha Otoko that motivated the otakus to step forward and try to save the woman. Maybe they were thinking “Man this is it, I’m finally gonna get a babelicious girlfriend”

I wonder what would happened if the TV program tried to rob an otaku of his prized possession like a limited edition figurine or attacked a meido instead. Maybe they get a super strong reaction like those manly men in Sparta~
